August 25th is the National Disability Prevention Day. To further enhance the travel experience for people with disabilities, the Chaka Salt Lake Scenic Area focused on the actual travel needs of disabled tourists, continuously improved the accessibility hardware facilities, upgraded the humanistic and convenient services, and took practical and heartwarming measures to ensure that disabled people could enjoy the beautiful scenery of the salt lake freely.
To effectively implement the cultural and tourism惠民 policy, the Chaka Salt Lake Scenic Area has launched a personalized ticket discount policy. Disabled people can enjoy the benefit of free tickets by presenting their ID cards and the level of disability certificate issued by the Disabled Persons' Federation. At the same time, considering that visually impaired, intellectually impaired, and physically impaired disabled people often need someone to accompany and take care of them when traveling, a caregiver for these groups can also enjoy the free ticket policy at the same time, reducing the economic burden of disabled tourists when traveling and encouraging more disabled people to step out of their homes and experience the unique scenery of the plateau salt lake.
In terms of hardware facility construction, the Chaka Salt Lake Scenic Area started from the entire travel process and completed the supplementation of accessibility facilities, eliminating the "blockages" in the passage for special tourists. The parking lot specially set up dedicated parking spaces for the disabled, which are located close to the tourist center entrance, minimizing the walking distance for disabled tourists. The ticket checkpoint specially opened a priority green channel for the disabled, allowing them to enter the park without long queues. The tourist service center provides free manual wheelchairs and walking stick rental services for tourists, solving the problem of shortage of travel equipment for some tourists. The scenic area also equipped standardized accessibility toilets in the tourist center and main square area, and built accessibility ramps on the main square and wooden walkway platform, eliminating the obstacles caused by steps and making wheelchair passage more smooth, fully meeting the basic travel passage needs of disabled tourists.
In addition to improving the hardware facilities, the Chaka Salt Lake Scenic Area also carefully provided humanistic and convenient services, putting care into the details. The scenic area set up volunteer and Party member service posts to provide tourists with consultation and guidance services. When encountering disabled tourists with mobility difficulties, staff can provide assistance, helping them carry wheelchairs up and down the small railway platform to solve the problem of transfer travel. In the plateau area with high altitude, to cope with tourists' sudden physical discomfort, the medical room at the tourist center, the Chaka Wind Station, and the oxygen supply points at the Chaka Snow Station are open 24 hours and provide free oxygen supply, ensuring emergency protection for tourists during their plateau tours, and safeguarding their physical health. For large groups of disabled people traveling, the team leader can also call the scenic area in advance, and the staff will assist in planning a tour route with wheelchair accessibility conditions, making the team travel safer and smoother.
For a long time, the Chaka Salt Lake Scenic Area has always placed the travel guarantee for disabled tourists in an important position, adhering to starting from the real needs of special groups, continuously polishing accessibility facilities and convenient services, striving to eliminate travel obstacles, and allowing disabled tourists to travel freely and safely in the beautiful salt lake.
In the future, the Chaka Salt Lake Scenic Area will continue to base itself on the actual travel experience of disabled tourists, continuously optimize and improve the construction of accessibility environment, continuously refine and improve various convenient service measures, and carefully provide special group tourism service guarantees, so that more disabled tourists can equally experience the natural scenery of the salt lake and share the achievements brought by cultural and tourism development.
